Meet Cadence Joy.

Even at just 10 days old, her hands were perfectly girly.

How precious is this hat? It was her Daddy’s when he was a newborn!

Thank you so much to the ‘B’ family for letting me photograph your precious girl – she was an absolute dream!

So, here I was thinking I would get ahead of the game and write some blog posts and then auto publish them. Obviously, they aren’t there. I’ve been wracking my brain trying to figure out what I did wrong, been scouring my settings thinking I messed up somewhere there. Uhh….no. I realized I had the YEAR wrong. How that happened I have NO idea but problem solved. Don’t you hate it under the simple solution is literally right under your nose? HAHA.

As a kid, didn’t you just love popping the bubbles on bubble wrap?

Bentley was squeezing his pudgy fingers as hard as he could to pop those little bubbles.

Squeezing with all his might until his little hand shook.

And, when one popped, he was so proud and excited! Looking so smug.

Then, he just held the bubble wrap for a minute and stared at it. I was wondering where his mind was wandering to.

He likes to figure things out.

He tried stretching it to make the bubbles pop.

And decided that it didn’t work out to well for him.

Back to using his fine motor skills.

The classic technique proved itself again!

I love his concentration.

No one can resist those tiny bubbles.

Not even I.

Pop!

The boys & I made room for a quick game of Candy Land before school the other day. It was great to see Ethan encouraging and egging on Bentley, he was even showing him the correct way of how to play. I love how natural being a big brother comes to him.

Bentley is at such a fun age right now…. he fully understands the world around him but yet is so small and has so much to learn still. He’s my little thinker and every bit of rough and tumble there is.

Bentley got the first picture card. I can’t even begin to tell you how excited he was.

Ethan on the other hand was not impressed.

We have a winner!!!

After the game, I just let the boys play how they wanted with the game. The cards were thrown everywhere, the gingerbread men became superheros and policemen. I love seeing their imaginations come to life.

Bentley was obsessed with finding the popsicle picture card. He was frantically turning over every card while saying ‘pop-ickle’ over and over. I have to admit, sometimes it takes me a good second or two to figure out what he’s saying….even if he has said it before (like in this case). I always feel really dumb once I figure it out.

Sadly, we had to end our play time in order to get ready for school. We all gathered the cards and mini men and put them back in the box. As I was typing this, Ethan asked if we could play Candy Land again before school tomorrow. That makes my heart happy. Candy Land was one of my favorite games to play growing up. I hope my boys have the same enthusiasm and zest for family game night (or morning!) as I did. I definitely can’t wait for GUESS WHO?
